The Budget 2016-2017 will bring about tremendous development in the state of Uttar Pradesh. Akhilesh Yadav, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh has targeted to supply power for at least 16 hours in rural areas and 22 hours in Urban Areas, from October 2016. Rs. 11,900 crore have been proposed for the same. To make this a reality, the Uttar Pradesh government is taking huge steps.

Last month, Akhilesh Yadav lay the founding stone of a critical 660MW power unit in Harduaganj in Aligarh district. This unit will definitely help in improving the current power supply. The unit will be constructed by Toshiba, a Japanese power giant in accordance with the UP Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam, who have been instructed by the CM to get it functional, at the earliest.  

The year 2016-17, according to the budget, is going to be a year for welfare of all and will be a complete makeover for the state in infrastructural development. The Harduaganj power unit is the third one in the state, after a 1,980 MW unit in Ghatamput and 250×2 MW unit in Paricha.
