Akhilesh Yadav, an engineer, knows the importance of digitalizing the state to ensure the overall development of the state. He wishes to position Uttar Pradesh as the preferred IT/ITES investment destination in India and leverage it as an engine of growth for UP. To transform physical communities into connected communities that can help to realize sustainable economic growth and enhance the quality of life has been his focus point.

After the award winning and one of its kind “Bridging the Digital Divide: Laptop Distribution Program”, the Digital CM has taken his strategy a notch higher to digitize the state. Akhilesh Yadav, like a true Samajwadi, has launched Samajwadi Smart Phone Yojana to promote equality of opportunity among all sections of the society. The Samajwadi Smart Phone Yojana will be a two-way communication tool which will be used by Akhilesh Government to inform the people of the policies and schemes from which they can benefit and vice versa by the people to dispense their problems to the right authority.

The Samajwadi Smart Phone will be equipped with latest technology and updated audio, video, and text features. The people of Uttar Pradesh will be able to learn about the schemes using any of the above mentioned methods. The phone will come loaded with the app on which users can also share feedback on the state government’s policies and help them govern the people better.

The system also has a facility where in after online selection of the beneficiary, smart phones would be straight away dispatched to the beneficiaries’ addresses. The registration for the same will start within a month.

The eligibility criteria for applying are as follows:

  4. The applicant or their guardian should not be a regular government employee.

From farmers to students, the Samajwadi Smart Phone will prove beneficial to all. Farmers will be able to check best practices, market prices, and accurate weather forecast. Milk producers will be able to know beforehand the collection and delivery points. The youth will get regular updates on the latest job opportunities, students will be able to receive educational media content and result alerts. And this is not all, small business holders will be able to get information on financial inclusion, government schemes updates, subsidies and other application facilities.

Such samajwadi reforms are what makes Akhilesh Yadav the true People’s CM.
