With a population of 4000, Sunva is an OBC dominated district in Faizabad across Amethi. To travel across the Gomti, the inhabitants had to travel 70 km, which was troublesome and tiring. But now, thanks to the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Akhilesh Yadav, the distance has been ‘bridged’.
But in this endeavour, the torch bearer was Sundar Lal Maurya, the young CM’s cook who belongs to Sunva. He was approached by his fellow residents to convey their problem to the Chief Minister. Sundar mustered courage and one day brought the issue up at the dinner table. The People’s CM immediately asked his officers to conduct a survey of the area. On receiving a positive response, he immediately ordered for construction of a bridge, an intermediate girls’ college along with a community health centre in Sunva.
Sundar has been working with the family since 1996 and talks highly of the approachability of the CM. Once the facilities were complete, Akhilesh Yadav visited the district with his wife and Kannauj MP, Dimple Yadav to inaugurate. At the event, he also laid the foundation stone for 41 schemes and inaugurated another 84, worth Rs. 88 crore and Rs. 154 crore respectively. This was not all, he also distributed laptops to meritorious students as per Kanya Vidya Dhan.
The good humoured CM addressed the locals and admitted that he was not aware of the problems till his cook pointed it out and had he not agreed to the demand he would have not got good food back home. He even visited Sundar’s house while he was in the area.
Akhilesh Yadav, proves yet again, how humble and approachable he is. A true People’s CM, indeed!
