UP100, popularly known as ‘Dial-100’ was launched by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Akhilesh Yadav on 19th November 2016. It is a centralized system on the lines of an emergency response agency 911 ensuring help in 15-20 minutes to a victim. Under this project, the UP Police has a unified command and control centre for the entire state. The integrated centre also co-ordinates medical, fire and other-related emergencies. To bring international infrastructure in the state, Digital CM has acquired Hexagon Safety & Infrastructure’s leading Intergraph CAD software.

Hexagon’s call-handling and dispatching capabilities allow 250 call takers simultaneously. There will be 150 dispatchers to manage 2,00,000 calls per day, across the state via its emergency hotline services – landline, VoIP, SMS, email, social media, and mobile application. Citizens can upload pictures, texts and videos in English and their local dialects, which can be tagged to recorded calls. Information is shared with frontline police via mobile applications. A key highlight is the deployment of 200 female communication officers to ensure quick response to women in need of assistance.

Javeed Ahmad, director general of police, Uttar Pradesh Police, said, “A leader like Hexagon has participated in this project, lending its technology and expertise to customise such an extensive and robust computer-aided dispatch system. I’m extremely positive and optimistic that this will change the way police respond to the people in Uttar Pradesh.”

Hexagon’s partner, Mahindra Defence Systems Limited, implemented the technology in the ‘UP 100’ Emergency Operation Center. “We are proud to be a key partner in building a world-class command and control center for Uttar Pradesh Police,” said Jerry Su, VP, Global Strategy, Hexagon.

Social Samajwadi is confident that such technology will help Uttar Pradesh Police achieve its current and future goals, improving emergency services for its citizens.
