During his tenure, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has announced multiple schemes to improve education in the state giving many hope for their and their child’s future. From distributing free laptops, school books, school bags, Kanya Vidya Dhan to tutorial classes, UPCM Akhilesh Yadav has gone above and beyond to ensure improved education standards. On 20th November, he celebrated World Children’s Day in a unique way and announced a scheme for financially challenged students of Uttar Pradesh.
In this new scheme, Akhilesh Government will be giving Rs. 5000 as financial help for the children of labourers and farmers who are unable to complete their education due to lack of funds. Along with this, free uniform and school bags will be given to students until the 8th standard. This event was held at the Lok Sabha and the attendants were extremely happy with this step, which will benefit lakhs. During the event, he also distributed free school bags to children and interacted with them freely.
Along with this, Akhilesh Yadav also announced a website where reserved seats for financially weak students will be announced on a regular basis. This information will go live from January 2017. At the event, he said, “A country can progress only when the youth are educated and work towards moving it to the right direction. Taking the first step in this direction, we have announced this scheme and hope maximum children will avail these benefits. We have given milk and fruits with mid-day meals and also distributed utensils to ensure that no one falls sick due to lack of hygiene.”
