Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Akhilesh Yadav, flagged off the ‘Agra Taj Car Rally-2016’ in February on the Lucknow-Agra Expressway near Firozabad. Addressing the massive gathering at the event, he said, “While on one hand this car rally will promote tourism in the state, on the other hand, it will also show the world-class work being done by the state government on the 302-km long Agra-Lucknow Expressway.”

The third edition of the Agra Taj Car Rally was organized by Motor Sports Club in collaboration with the Uttar Pradesh government. It had 90 cars taking part on this adventurous stretch of 350 km along Yamuna and Chambal rivers. Amongst the participants, three were differently abled who drove hand motorized cars. The rally saw participation from twelve women motorists,
as well.

The competition took entries in 6 different categories which included elderly people, couples, and female drivers driving through sand, mud, and beautiful landscape, towards the finishing line. During this event, chief minister Akhilesh Yadav appreciated the timely work done on the expressway and told everyone how it will prove to be a boon for the economy of the state. He praised the work done by the officers of UPEIDA because of whom the project was completed in record time.

Shedding light on some of the future plans of Samajwadi Party, Akhilesh Yadav said that there will be farmer markets established on both sides of the expressway which will improve life style and financial status of the people. The Lucknow-Agra Expressway, along with reducing distance will contribute in solving problems of the farmers and the youth, by giving them
employment opportunities.

“No other state government in the country is working like the Uttar Pradesh government,” said the Chief Minister and we agree that it is a great time to be in the state.
