After seeing the shocking visuals of rain affected Chennai, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Akhilesh Yadav wanted to help the people and in this regard wrote a letter to Ms. J. Jayalalitha, Tamil
Nadu’s CM extending all the support for Chennai flood relief.
Chennai floods broke a 100-year record with one day’s rainfall covering a month’s average. Seeing the scenario, Uttar Pradesh Government took a step forward by extending a helping hand to the rain ravaged people of the city and announced financial support of Rs. 25 Crore for flood relief work in Chennai. Apart from this, he also donated his one month’s salary and requested his party ministers, MPs and MLAs to do the same.
People’s CM, Akhilesh Yadav has always extended his support in times of need. Earlier he also gave Rs. 2 lakhs to the families of the deceased and Rs. 20,000 to those seriously injured, by the earthquake which shook Nepal and Northern India. Although a disaster, the floods of Chennai brought for the country and the world to see some of the greatest stories of humanity, courage, selflessness, and altruism. And while one day in time, the vestiges of the horrific floods will be washed off, it is these stories of humanity that will remain permanently and immortally
etched in the history of Chennai.
You make us proud, Akhilesh Yadav!
