As per the law, a handicapped is someone with a mental or physical disability. They are differently abled but are part of the society like any of us. A lot of times, they are refused opportunities or ill-treated because of their situation. Akhilesh Yadav, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh has always tried his best to make them feel normal by providing special schemes and financial aid.
Some of the schemes run by Akhilesh Yadav in Uttar Pradesh include the State Disability Pension, bus concession, incentive award for marriage, etc. These provide monetary help to a person if they meet certain requirements. The People’s CM said, “If provided with enough chances, they can also lead a normal life and progress in life. It was the duty of the society and the government to provide such people enough opportunities.” And his schemes reflect just that!
For his efforts to uplift the neglected part of the society, Akhilesh Yadav was felicitated by the Chancellor of Jagad Guru Rambhadracharya Handicapped University, Swami Rambhadracharya, at the CM’s official residence. On the occasion, the Chief Minister lauded the exemplary work being done by the institute in the lives of the physically challenged. He also said, “Such people are no different from the normal people and were in fact specially abled as they have special talent and determination.”
