On 22nd May, 2016 Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav was at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan Lucknow where a man fainted during the event. He was immediately rushed to Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences for treatment. But what happened after this was something no one could have imagined.
After the event got over, Akhilesh Yadav paid a visit to the hospital to see the patient and check if he was being treated properly. He spoke to the administrators and took a detailed account of the services there. The People’s CM, after coming out of the ward, spoke to the patients and their families asking them about the services and the staff of the hospital.
The people were genuinely touched by this act and several of them asked him for help. One of the patients, from Ballia, Ram Prakash was suffering from a heart problem. Being a painter he could not afford the treatment. The CM immediately waived off his treatment fee. Apart from Ram Prakash, two more patients were promised free treatment by Akhilesh Yadav.
The chief minister, earlier this month announced free treatment for almost all incurable diseases in the state. That is not all; the medication will be available within the hospital premises along with better infrastructure.
Such actions prove that Akhilesh Yadav is more than just a political figure. He has been a provider for the people, in more than one ways.
