On UPCM Akhilesh’s 43rd birthday Social Samajwadi would like to highlight his dream projects. His initiatives have ensured an overall development of the state and its people in the last four years. From enhancing economic condition of the state, providing exceptional education, to phenomenal development in the health care sector, he has left no sphere untouched. Let’s take a look at the new, innovative, and cutting edge projects completed by this Young Samajwadi!


  1. Lucknow Metro

Being one of the finest projects started by Akhilesh Yadav, the Lucknow Metro has won many laurels even before its inauguration. The work on it was started in 2014 and will be functional in a couple of months. The rapid growth of Lucknow under Akhilesh Yadav called for better transport system and Lucknow Metro was born. The phase one of the project is nearing completion and people are looking forward to it.

  1. IT City

Along with HCL, the Uttar Pradesh government is working on an IT City in the state capital. UP Chief Minister, Akhilesh Yadav has given a deadline of October 2016 to the tech giant to complete the work. The first batch of training has already been initiated and the jobs will have special reservation for women.


  1. Road Network in the State

Infrastructure has been a focus point of Samajwadi Party and they have done great work in connecting cities, towns, and villages. Lucknow-Agra Expressway is one of the most important road networks of the state. Apart from this Samajwadi Purvanchal Expressway connecting Eastern Uttar Pradesh and Lucknow, and Lucknow-Azamgarh-Baliya Samajwadi Highway are also being constructed.



  1. Kisan Mandi

Kisaan Mandi or Farmer’s Market has definitely been a boon to the farmers of Uttar Pradesh launched by Akhilesh Yadav. Now they will not have to travel from one place to another in search of better prices, they will be fixed by the state Government. Thanks to UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, the farmers will also be able to buy high quality seeds, pesticides, and fertilizers, at no added cost. This scheme by Samajwadi Party was well appreciated by the farmers and buyers, alike.


  1. Women Empowerment

Samajwadi Party has since always given utmost importance to Women Empowerment and has started multiple schemes for their education, economic independence, health concerns, and overall welfare. From setting up Rani Laxmi Bai Women Empowerment Fund for helping out women needing monetary assistance to internationally acclaimed 1090 Women Power Line which has expedited 3,80,679 cases reported by females. The Samajwadi Party believes in creating a socialist society, which works on the principle of equality.

  1. Laptop Distribution

Uttar Pradesh government has been distributing free laptops to meritorious students who clear high school and intermediate examinations from the state. UP Chief Minister, Akhilesh Yadav, has distributed more than 15 lakh laptops since 2012. The CM initiated this to encourage students to go in for higher studies and be technically at par with the rest of the world.

  1. Dial 100

The UP government has gone the extra mile and set up Police Emergency Response System, DIAL 100, which will reduce the response time of the police, drastically. The scheme will enable the police to reach the scene of incident within 20 minutes in the rural area and the response time in urban areas will be 10 minutes in two-wheelers and 15 minutes in four-wheelers. This is the biggest project of the state as well as the country for modernisation of the police system.


  1. Free Irrigation

The Uttar Pradesh government gives free water for irrigation of farms in rural areas. There has been a provision of hand pumps and tube wells, which have been installed at no extra cost. This has been done for the first time by state government and it aims at reaching 12 lakh hectare of area. The boring well will also be installed for free from now on.

  1. 108 Ambulance Service

Uttar Pradesh because of its population has attracted multiple health developments in the last few years. An acute need to have emergency ambulance service in the state motivated and encouraged Akhilesh Yadav to launch 108 Ambulance Service. Better known as Samajwadi Ambulance Sewa, this is a free of cost, round the clock ambulance service started by Akhilesh Yadav. It has provided medical aid 1.5 crore people in 4 years.


  1. Samajwadi Pension Yojna

The beneficiaries of this rural and urban development scheme will be the families who have no source of income. As per the Samajwadi Pension Plan, 45 lakh families will be given Rs. 500 per month for all the family members, to sustain themselves. The amount will be increased with time. So far, 33,66,056 people have benefitted from this scheme and Rs. 5049.084 lakh have been invested by the Uttar Pradesh Government.
