Akhilesh Yadav, the Digital CM of Uttar Pradesh has strived to digitize the state, its policies, the government, and the opportunities to keep up with the ever-evolving globalization, beyond boundaries. The state government has come up with a pioneering initiative which will definitely leave a digital footprint on the online ecosystem. Akhilesh Yadav is all set to launch a special IT cadre in Uttar Pradesh for efficient and quick delivery of services through e-governance schemes.

To ensure smooth functioning of all the departments online, two IT experts at the rank of special secretary and joint secretary will be designated for the position. These officers will withdraw from their existing post and join the new force with a 10% incentive on their basic and grade pay. Deepak Singh, chief secretary of the state is in charge of putting together officers in the IT cadre from various departments. These officers will be responsible for internal proceedings, swift file movement, process re-engineering of service delivery, and management of their respective departments.

The state IT and electronics department have been nominated to be the nodal agency for the constitution of the virtual IT cadre. This will be headed by the chief secretary who will monitor the constitution process of virtual IT cadre. These officers will also deal with capacity development for successful implementation of e-governance initiatives along with monitoring government policies, standards, and orders. Selected officers will support Information and Public Relations department in publicity of state government schemes through electronic and social media.

This initiative has come in place by Akhilesh Yadav right after he inaugurated country’s first Twitter Sewa amalgamation with UP Police. With policies like these, the common man will feel safe, secure, and more equipped with knowledge, at all times.
