Akhilesh Government has made the youth and their education their primary focus in the last few years. From setting up world class infrastructure for technical and vocational training, there has been a growth of more than 100% in medical studies as well. To add to this, a state recognized medical college will be set up in Basti. Rs. 19568.48 lakh have been sanctioned for the same by the state government.

Akhilesh Yadav knows that for the development of the state, it is important to ensure strengthening of the youth. Hence, Uttar Pradesh can see a significant increase in the number of colleges, vocational training opportunities, and employment schemes. Under central government’s ‘establishment of new medical college attached with existing district/referral’ scheme, Rs. 4 crore have been allotted for the upcoming college in Basti.

Funds have been sanctioned by Akhilesh Government for new medical colleges in Faizabad, Basti, Ferozabad, and Shahjahanpur. To overlook the constructions, direction, and medical studies a committee has been formed by the UPCM. This will ensure that work is done in the stipulated time. Higher authorities have been roped in for speciality courses which will be started in the above mentioned locations.

It is interesting to note that till 2012 there were a total of 7 medical colleges in the entire state. And since Akhilesh Yadav came into power, 8 more have been constructed which are at par with national level colleges and 5 more are underway.
