Uttar Pradesh Government on the 8th of August had a Cabinet Meeting chaired by Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav. There were many important decisions taken for the development of Uttar Pradesh. From providing employment to weavers to increasing the HRA, many will be implemented with an arrear from the beginning of the month.
The cabinet approved the proposal to hike HRA by 20% for all categories of employees benefitting more than 14.5 lakh employees. Another proposal to approve purchase of 11 types of khadi cloths from Shri Gandhi Ashram and UP Handicraft Development and Distribution Corporation by all the government departments, enterprises, corporations and authorities was passed.
Norms were also relaxed for distributing free battery operated e-rickshaws to women drivers and priority would be given to women suffering from domestic violence, acid attack victims, weak, and destitute. Reward money under Ram Manohar Lohia Special Handicraft award has been increased along with clearing the UP Export Infrastructure Development Policy.
Akhilesh Government also showed a green signal to Women Entrepreneurs Promotion Scheme. It will provide 20% reservation to women entrepreneurs under interest subsidy scheme to help set up small and medium scale units. Free of cost, 1.62-hectare land, worth Rs. 10.36 crore, has been sanctioned for establishing Uttar Pradesh Institute of Design on Lucknow outskirts.
Lucknow Municipal Corporation has been given clearance to establish a slaughter house under PPP. The cabinet also gave nod for establishment of State Skills Institute in upcoming Trans Ganga City in Unnao. A consultant will be appointed for the formation of Advance Traffic Management System for the Lucknow-Agra Expressway. Uttar Pradesh will also very soon see the construction of tourism guest houses and units on lease basis for management, development, and operation.
