A lot of times people are seen complaining about the police force. This isn’t the case, just in India, but it’s the same all over the world. Sometimes it’s about their behaviour and other times about their lack of presence. But now, the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Akhilesh Yadav has taken it upon himself to ensure that the image of the police force changes, for good! He wants the policemen in the state to take lessons in etiquette.

The People’s CM wants to tell the citizens of the state that a lot of times, the police comes across as ‘rude’ to the citizens because they are over-worked and hence irritable. To change this, they will have proper workshops to sensitize them towards the people, teach them how to say, ‘please’ and ‘thank you’, and behave politely with the common man, under all circumstances.

To help the police force unwind, the state government often organizes Yoga and meditation workshops but due to a shortage of uniformed men, they are often unable to attend them. To help the police, Akhilesh Yadav has also instructed a larger scale recruiting process in future. A senior official in the chief minister’s secretariat said, “well-behaved police would not only help improve the image of the police force but would also change the people’s perception of the law and order situation.”
