The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh can be accredited with multiple schemes and initiatives to make the state safer and friendlier for women and children. We could look at the successful Operation Milan or internationally acclaimed Women Power Line 1090. UP Minister for Women Welfare, Shadab Fatima talks about Akhilesh Yadav and his policies for them and how she feels about the opposition and recent upheaval in the state, which questioned the morality of many.
Referring to a tiff between BJP and BSP ministers, Daya Shankar Singh and Nasimuddin Siddiqui respectively, she said had they received some family values in their childhood, they would have understood the value and place of women and not behaved like they did. While defending another women, albeit, a rival, Fatima said, “no matter what political party a woman is connected to, she should not be made the target of personal comments.”
The UP Minister for Women Welfare complimented Samajwadi Party for making the women safer than ever in the state and how the crimes against women have fallen drastically under Akhilesh Government. She highlighted multiple schemes being run for women welfare including widow pension to make them self-reliant. The budget for women homes have been increased and a new juvenile correction facility is being constructed in Sirauli, with all modern amenities, a library, sports equipment etc.
“Akhilesh Yadav government will very soon launch a scheme for children’s welfare by establishing a fund that will aim at reintegrating these juvenile offenders into the mainstream society. The government will also work on allowing bail to juveniles who have been living in the facility for too long while still under trial. The children would also be imparted technical training in the facility and social organisations are urged to come forward and help these children in becoming productive and law-abiding citizens of the country in the future,” said Shadab Fatima.
Hindustani Biradari secretary Ziauddin said that the children being kept in the juvenile homes should be shown movies and serials connected to the subject of juvenile offences. “The incidents of crimes against women and children are rising in UP, which needs to be controlled immediately. As long as the women of UP do not feel secure, there was hardly any possibility of their joining the mainstream of the society,” he said.
Social Samajwadi would like to applaud Akhilesh Yadav for his thoughtfulness towards each sector of the society.
