Apart from emerging as a strong political figure, UPCM Akhilesh Yadav has also won hearts with his humane aspect. He has come forward, time and again, to help people in need; sometimes officially and many times unofficially! According to a news report published by Indian Express, Akhilesh Yadav has given Rs. 300 crore as financial aid from 2012 to 2015 alone. It is interesting to note that this amount is thrice of what was given during the previous government, which equalled a meagre Rs. 84.76 crore.
Akhilesh Government has always been present for the people in distress. This amount has been given to the families of victims who have been in any sort of accident. Akhilesh Yadav’s financial help is not just restricted to the boundaries of the state. He has, at many occasions, extended monetary aid to other states. For instance, Jammu & Kashmir was given Rs. 20 crore during floods and so was Uttarakhand.
Very recently, Akhilesh Yadav has issued directives asking the district officials to allocate Rs. 2 lakh as ex gratia for the family members who lose their lives in natural calamitites, like rains, thunderstorms, or floods. “It is the responsibility of district magistrate to provide immediate relief to the family members who suffer loss of life and property in rains or thunderstorm. The official should keep his seniors abreast of all development,” said the young CM.
He said in case of death the family members should get Rs 2 lakh as compensation and injured if any should get free treatment in government hospital.
