Akhilesh Yadav thanked the media for showcasing the story of Raju and Brijesh, from Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh. The Saroj brothers, sons of a daily wage earner made the entire state proud by clearing IIT entrance examination in one single attempt. This prestigious moment was highlighted by the media and hence reached the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, who could now extend his help to the two boys and their families.

The Digital CM said, “I need to thank the members of the press for bringing the issue into spotlight as it was only after this that the children reached me. Whenever you (media) will bring any such case to our notice, the Samajwadi Party, government will come forward and help the poor.”

Akhilesh Yadav felicitated the hard working boys who overcame all odds, and announced that the state government would bear the expenses of their admission process and education as their family could not afford it. He has also awarded them with a laptop each to help them in future studies.

But this was not all, Akhilesh Yadav has adopted Rehua Lalganj and decided to develop it as the Ram Manohar Lohia model village. And their parents have also been allotted a house under the Lohiya Grameen Awaas Yojana.

The state government has given utmost priority to the youth of the state and their education; the same can be seen in the UP’s Budget for 2016-17. He also said, “the state government was committed to providing all help to meritorious students of the state and was increasing facilities so that those who desire good education get it at an affordable price.”
