Holi is a festival which sees a lot of enthusiasm from young and old, alike. People want to come home and celebrate it with their friends and families and hence, there is a heavy rush of passengers during this festival. To ensure that it is a happy Holi for one and all, the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) under the guidance of Akhilesh Yadav, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister has issued orders to operate 156 buses to ply in the state.
This initiative was taken to help people reach their home towns in time for the festival and cater to those who could not buy a train ticket. This bus service will move within the state and go up till Delhi. There will be frequent buses for intra-city transportation and will be operated from 20th to 27th March, 2016. Apart from ordinary buses, people can also choose to travel in luxurious Rajdhani and Volvo buses.
But the People’s CM also gave special consideration to the bus drivers and other security personnel involved in the smooth functioning of this service. They have been given incentives apart from the Holi bonus, to thank them for their kindness.
