The summers are here and how! Uttar Pradesh has been recording a maximum temperature of 46 degrees Celsius already and the people are looking for ways to beat the heat. To provide some respite in this weather, Akhilesh Yadav-led government is coming up with some great ideas.

According to this new scheme launched earlier this month, passengers travelling on state-owned buses in Uttar Pradesh can now buy chilled bottled water on board. ‘Parivahan Neer’ bottled water is available at a price of Rs. 9 for half a litre, Rs. 14 for one litre, and Rs. 22 for a two litre bottle. This scheme is launched for passengers travelling above 200 km.

These bottles are being stored in ice boxes to maintain temperature. It has been initiated in 3000 state run Uttar Pradesh Start Roadways Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) buses. The passengers will now definitely be able to travel comfortably.

The UPCM had earlier launched potable water dispensers in bus and railway stations by the name of Samajwadi Shudha Payjal Yojna which is also known as the Water ATMs. These are functional in around 100 bus stations within the state.

Akhilesh Yadav-led Uttar Pradesh government knows how to take care of the people.
