Akhilesh Yadav, the youngest chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, at the beginning of his term, vowed to improve the education in the state. Since then, he has relentlessly tried to bring in newer schemes to benefit and encourage the youth of the state. From distributing laptops to meritorious students to tripling the scholarship amount, the government has given everyone a reason to study further.

Akhilesh Yadav-led government, to support the education of girls has initiated multiple schemes like Kanya Vidyadhan, which gives Rs. 30,000 to every girl who completes intermediate and wants wishes to go in for further studies. Apart from that, one of the pilot projects of the young CM included waiving off tuition fees for every girl student from 9th to 12th standard. This means that the girls will not have to pay any money for the education, it will be free of cost. If they want to take part in any additional activities, the nominal fee will still be there for only those extra curricular, if charged by the school. This scheme is applicable to all government, aided, and non-aided recognised schools of UP Board without caste or religion being a bar.

Girl students from 1st to the 8th standard are already getting free education under Right to Education Act. The Chief Minister has often said, “We cannot progress without education. All the countries, which have progressed economically, first ensured the strengthening of their educational system.” We agree with this and hope Akhilesh Yadav succeeds in his mission to educate the state.
