Uttar Pradesh is one of the favourite tourist spots in the country. With delectable cuisines, colourful cultures, and rich religious locations; the state has everything to boast about. To tap into the tourism industry, Akhilesh Yadav the young Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh has made some great reforms which have resulted in almost 200% growth in this sector since 2012. And here’s another one such initiative by his government.
Very soon, the citizens of the state will be able to fly to intrastate destinations and buy ticket for the same from UP Tourism website. This initiative will give wings to the plans of Akhilesh Yadav-led UP Government to start intercity air service in the state.
Earlier, the state residents would have to face problems because of not having flights available for short sectors. This was because the airlines would not offer them for the lack of travellers. But now, the government will buy all the seats from the airlines and hold them for the passengers. The first phase will include Lucknow, Kashi and Agra.
Naveneet Sehgal, Principal Secretary Tourism, said, “Tourists on chartered planes are landing in Lucknow to relish the cuisines of the state and flying back to Singapore or other countries they come from.” The government, first and foremost, wishes to serve the residents of the state while already catering to lakhs of tourists every year.
Social Samajwadi would like to thank Akhilesh Government for giving wings to the people.
