Akhilesh Yadav, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh has come up with multiple initiatives to improve the medical facilities in the state. Different schemes have been launched to help various sects of the society. Very recently, the young CM inaugurated a paediatric centre in Lucknow King George Medical University to look after the young citizens of the state.
On 4th August, 2016 Akhilesh Government sanctioned Rs. 50 lakh for the upkeep of 250 children suffering from cancer in Uttar Pradesh. This money will be equally divided amongst them and each one will get Rs. 20,000 for their daily maintenance. The family can use it for the treatment, medicines, improved nutritional food etc.
It was initiated by Ishwar Child Foundation’s director Sapna Upadhyay. She had written a letter to the CM highlighting the problems faced by young cancer patients. Akhilesh Yadav immediately called for a committee to look into the matter and produce a final patient list. As soon as the list was ready, the amount for their health upkeep was sanctioned from the budget. Each family will receive a cheque by the DM of their area and if needed they can request the CM for more financial help. Akhilesh Yadav has also directed the officials to extend Rs. 1 lakh’s financial aid in case of any mishap.
Social Samajwadi prays for these children and sends them health and love!
