Earlier this month, an incident took place in Lucknow which deeply affected many people. It was a regular morning with the sun shining brightly; nothing seemed amiss. Just at that moment, an over loaded truck lost its balance and fell on the huts of local residents of Haiderganj. Four children lost their lives and many were injured.
Heena (15), Ikra (9), Mansa (7), Saleem (9), and Rajiya (40) succumbed to the accident and Asma (13) is recuperating. When the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Akhilesh Yadav learnt about this accident he immediately directed the UP Police to look into this matter and arrest the truck driver, who is on a run. The People’s CM also extended financial support to the family of the deceased by offering Rs. 2 lakh for each deceased and Rs. 50,000 for the treatment of the injured.
The people informed the police that the 10-tyred truck driver was trying to enter a congested lane and because of over loading, his vehicle overturned. Another businessman from the city donated Rs. 1 lakh to the families of the victims.
