After sparrows, lions, and sarus, Akhilesh Yadav, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh is now working on creating an ambient atmosphere for butterflies. The young leader who has also pursued Civil Environmental Engineering is now all set to gift the state a Butterfly Park. He got inspired by a similar concept he saw in Bangalore on a recent visit and decided to get one in Lucknow and Kanpur. The budget allocated for this is Rs. 1 crore which will be divided between the two locations.

The Lucknow Zoo Authority is doing a research on the various plants which attract butterflies and then they will be purchased from Lucknow’s Kukrail Nursery. The Director of Lucknow Zoo, Anupam Gupta, is very happy with this new plan to revamp the enterprise. He has highlighted the positive role these coloured creatures play in improving the environment along with enhancing the emotional well-being of a person.

The work on the Butterfly Park has already been started and the officials are planting multiple trees which include malta, sweet neem, sunflower, and mango trees apart from others. It will be situated within the Zoo premises in Lucknow. The winged insects help in pollination and if not taken care of can affect their surrounding adversely. This endeavour is well thought of by our chief minister and we can’t wait to see his Dream Project taking shape.
