On May 20th, 2016 the young Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh interacted with the youth across the state through a famous radio channel. Through this activity, he wishes to spread awareness about the environment and inform the people about the government’s plans to take care of the health of the people and the state.
Akhilesh Yadav has put Uttar Pradesh on the green track by initiating multiple cycle tracks across the state and by sanctioning UP’s first cycle highway. Kids and youths as brand ambassadors could be the best way to promote cycle track. On one hand, they will imbibe the urge to cycle and on the other, spread the message with more enthusiasm. Keeping this in mind, the chief
minister addressed the people and asked them for their support.
While on air, Akhilesh Yadav also shed light on the multiple campaigns being run by the Uttar Pradesh state government. He highlighted the immensely successful ‘Sarus Day’ and ‘Sparrow Day’, which was celebrated in the state with a lot of pomp and show. To get more people to know about these events, he suggested the youth to talk about it on social media platforms to
increase the outreach.
The floor was also opened for the people to send in their questions to the chief minister, who would answer them live. One question that caught our attention was, “Can’t we bring in legislation to control people causing environment hazards?” Akhilesh Yadav answered this question, by saying, “We can bring in legislation but it is always difficult to enforce. A much better way is to make people aware. We can make laws but if we involve people in the process, it would give better results.” We agree with our young CM and wish him all the best on his endeavour.
